Duniway, Abigail Scott

journalist, author, was born Oct. 22, 1834, in Groveland, Ill. She is the editor of The a Pacific Empire, weekly journal devoted to the interests of women, and for nearly twenty years was editor and owner of The New Northwest. She is the state president. of the Oregon State Equal Suffrage association, vice-president of the Oregon Woman's National Press association, and of various other reform clubs and associations. She is the author of Captain Gray's Company, a pioneer novel; David and Anna Watson, and Other Poems; and numerous serial stories, sketches and poems, which have appeared in her own publications and in the leading newspapers and magazines in America.
