Dick, Robert P
lawyer, jurist, state senator, was born Oct. 5, 1823, in Greensboro, N. C. He was appointed United States district attorney for the district of North Carolina in 1853, and remained in that office until 1861. He was elected a delegate to the state constitutional convention of 1861 and 1865. He was a state senator in 1864-65; was an associate justice of the supreme court of North Carolina in 1868-72; when he was appointed United States district judge for the western district of North Carolina.
