Olmsted, Marlin Edgar

lawyer, legislator, railroad president, congressman, was born in Potter county, Pa. He received the rudiments of his education in the public schools, and subsequently attended Couderport academy.

He is one of the leading lawyers of Harrisburg, Pa.; has been counsel of his city; president and general counsel for the Beach Railroad company; also president of the Buffalo and Susquehanna Railroad company. He has been counsel for the Lehigh Valley Railroad company; the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad company; Delaware and Hudson Canal company; Lehigh Coal and Navigation company; the Western Union Telegraph company, and many other corporations. He was elected to the fifty-fourth congress, and served with distinction in that body.
