Currey, Augustus
poet, was born Dec. 17, 1836, in Detroit, Mich. In 1863 he became connected with the Western Union Telegraph company, and with the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy railroad at Chicago, and remained in that city for nearly twenty years. He then returned to Detroit, Mich., where he is manager of the Detroit Car Service association. He has contributed numerous meritorious poems to leading publications, and have also appeared in Poets of America and other standard collections .
He is also the author of a volume of poems entitled The Sower.
