Collins, Lorin Warren

soldier, state legislator, jurist, was born in 1838 in Lowell, Mass. He moved to Minnesota in 1854; served through the civil war in the seventh Minnesota, and was brevetted captain in 1865. He was county attorney of Stearns county for ten years; and a member of the Minnesota house of representatives in 1881-83. In 1883 he was appointed judge of the seventh judicial district; and was elected the following year. Since 1887 he has been associate justice of the supreme court.
