Craig, James
soldier, lawyer, congressman, was born May 7, 1820, in Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Missouri legislature in 1847; and was a captain of a volunteer company in the Mexican war. He was circuit attorney for the twelfth judicial circuit in Missouri from 1852 to 1856. He was a representative in the thirty-fifth congress from Missouri; and was re-elected to the thirty-sixth congress. He was appointed a brigadiergeneral of volunteers in 1862, and employed in the west. He died Oct. 21, 1888, in St. Joseph, Mo.
