Covell, Alton Giles

lawyer, legislator, financier, was born June 8, 1854, in Erie, Pa. He received an academic education and was admitted to the bar in 1880. In 1883 he moved to North Dakota, where he has, financially, large and extensive interests in wheat and stock farms, and in a general mercantile house. He served two terms as state's attorney for Wells county; and he has been prominently connected with the public affairs of his county and state; and has served one term as a member of the North Dakota state legislature. He is interested in numerous business enterprises, and has contributed extensively to various charitable institutions.
