Chickering, Charles A
educator, state legislator, congressman, was born Nov. 26, 1843, in Harrisburg, N. Y. He was a member of the assembly in 1879, 1880, and 1881; was elected clerk of the assembly in 1884, and re-elected in 1885- 90. He has been chairman of the republican county committee of Lewis county, secretary of the republican state committee, and also a member of the executive committee of that body. He was elected to the fifty-third, fifty-fourth and fiftyfifth congresses as a republican.
