Burton, George Dexter

inventor, was born Oct. 26, 1855, in Temple, N. H.

He is the inventor of the Burton stock car; inventor and president of the American Electric Forge company, operating the Burton Electric Liquid system of heating and working metals and ores.

He has lectured upon the subject of Heating and Working Metals by Electricity before the Harvard Lecture club of the Jefferson physical laboratory of the Harvard college; before the Franklin institute of Philadelphia, Pa.; before the Society of Arts of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and various other learned scientific bodies. His liquid process of heating and welding by an electric current has been successfully adopted.
