Bunn, Benjamin H

soldier, lawyer, congressman, was born Oct. 19, 1844, near Rocky Mount, N. C. At the age of sixteen he enlisted in the confederate army; commanded fourth company sharpshooters, Mac- Rae's brigade, army of Northern Virginia; and was twice wounded. He was a member of the state constitutional convention in 1875; was a delegate to the national democratic convention in 1880; and was a member of the state legislature in 1883. He was presidential elector in 1884; and was elected to the fifty-first, fifty-second, and fifty-third congresses as a democrat.
