Buck, Charles Francis
lawyer, legislator, orator, was born Nov. 5, 1841, in Germany. He received his education at the public schools and the Louisiana state university of Alexandria. For two terms he served as city attorney of New Orleans; has been a member of the school board; and held various other public positions of honor in that city. He served with distinction as a member of the fifty-fourth congress from the second Louisiana district. He is an able lawyer and a brilliant orator. His oration on the Life and Death of James A. Garfield received publication in all the leading newspapers of America, and was highly eulogized.
