Bryant, Wilbur Franklin

lawyer, author, politician, was born March 21, 1851, in Dalton, N. H. In 1873 he graduated from Kimball Union academy of Meriden; and subsequently attended Dartmouth college.

He then entered educational work in Mississippi. In 1876 he moved to Nebraska, and a year later was admitted to the bar. He has practiced his profession in Nebraska at St.

Helena, where he was postmaster for three years; and at West Point and Hartington. In 1882 he was elected district attorney for sixteen counties; for several years he was judge of Cuming county; and is now a member of Governor Holcomb's staff, with rank of colonel. He was one of the founders of the people's party in Nebraska, and has been a member of every state convention since its foundation. He was a member of the bimetallic congress of 1893; and is the state president of the Catholic Knights of America.
