Brown, Jason Brevoort

lawyer, state senator, congressman, was born Feb. 26, 1839, in Dillsboro, Ind. He has taken part as a public speaker in all of the political campaigns in his state since 1862; was elected to the Indiana house of representatives from Jackson county in 1862, and was re-elected in 1864. He was elected to the state senate in 1870 from the counties of Jackson and Brown, and was re-elected in 1880 from the counties of Jackson and Jennings. He was elected to the fifty-first and fifty-second congresses and re-elected to the fifty-third congress as a democrat.
