Brinton, Daniel Garrison

educator, journalist, author, was born May 13, 1837, in Chester county, Pa. He is an archæological writer and publisher, well as physician, of Philadelphia, whose researches in aboriginal history and literature have been very extensive. A professor of archæology in the university of Pennsylvania since 1880. He is the author of The Myths of the New World; The Religious Sentiment; American Hero-Myths; Aboriginal American Authors: The Floridian Peninsula; Races and Peoples; Essays of an Americanist; The Lenape and their Legends. He has edited the Maya Chronicles; The Comedy-Ballet of Güeguence; and Aboriginal American Anthology.
