Boughton, Martha Arnold

author, was born Feb. 18, 1857, in Corunna, Mich. In 1880 she graduated from the university of Michigan with the degree of Ph. B. She taught school in Detroit, Mich., until 1884, when she married Willis Boughton, an eminent educator and author. In 1895 she was one of the Ohio delegates to the international convention of the Woman's Christian Temperance union, held in London, England. She is the author of Memoir of John Motte Arnold (her father); and a volume of poems, entitled Stars Through Cypress Trees.
