Bond, Lester L

lawyer, legislator, was born Oct. 27, 1829, in Ravenna, Ohio.

During 1862-66 he was a member of the city council of Chicago; was presidential elector in 1868; and for two terms during 1866-70 was a member of the Illinois state legislature. He was one of the founders of the West Chicago park system; a member of the Chicago board of education; and in 1872 was acting mayor of Chicago.

He was past commander of the Chicago commandery, Knights Templars; and in 1897 was elected vice-president of the Union League club.
