Biery, James S

educator, lawyer, congressman, was born March 2, 1839, in Venango county, Pa. He received an academic education; taught school several years; studied theology and law; and was admitted to the bar in 1868. In 1869 he was a candiaate for the legislature, running ahead of his ticket. He was elected to the forty-third congress, serving on the committee on mileage..

He was an able speaker; and took an active part in all progressive measures. He is a successful lawyer of Allentown, Pa.; and one of the foremost jurists of his state.
