Bartine, Horace F
soldier, lawyer, journalist, congressman, was born March 21, 1848, in New York city. He enlisted as a private soldier during the civil war in the eighth regiment of the New Jersey volunteers, and was severely wounded in the breast at the battle of the Wilderness.
He was subsequently in nearly all of the principal engagements in which the army of the Potomac took part. In 1869 he moved to Nevada, and resided there until 1895. In 1888 he was elected to congress, and received the re-election in 1890. He is now the editor of The Bimetallist of Washington, D. C.
