ANAGNOS, MRS. JULIA ROMANA, author, was born in 1844. She was a. daughter of Dr. S. G. and Julia Ward Howe, and wife of M. Anagnos, the 'superintendent of the Perkins institute for the blind in Boston. She is the author of Stray Chords, a volume of verse; and Philosophiæ Questor. She died in 1886.
