Bek-n-renf. 138 Psammetik I. repels an invasion of the Scythians toward 625. Nekau II., marching against Nineveh, is attacked by Josias, king of Jerusalem: he defeats and kills him at Megiddo in 610. He is himself defeated by Nebuchadnezzar at Karkemish (Circessium) about the year 606 B. C.
