lawyer, jurist, was born May 19, 1848, in Achor, Ohio. This able lawyer of Lisbon, Ohio, for four years was engaged in editorial work; and is now judge of the probate court of his county.
YOUNG, PIERCE MANNING BUTLER, soldier, congressman, was born Nov. 15, 1839, in Spartanburg, S. C. He joined the confederate army, and rose by promotion to the rank of major-general, receiving two wounds in battle. In 1868 he was elected a representative from Georgia to the forty-first congress; and was reelected to the forty-second and forty-third congresses as a democrat.
YOUNG, RICHARD MONTGOMERY, state legislator, United States senator, was born in 1796 in Kentucky. He was a presidential elector in 1828; and was a senator in congress from Illinois from 1837 to 1843. He was appointed commissioner in the general land office in 1846; and was clerk of the United States house of representatives in 1850 and 1851. He died about 1852 in Washington, D. C.
