Yoder, Samuel S
soldier, physician, jurist, congressman, was born Aug. 16, 1841, in Berlin, Ohio. He enlisted in the one hundred and twenty-eighth Ohio infantry; rose to the rank of lieutenant, and served till the end of the war. He studied medicine, and practiced his profession for eighteen years. He was elected mayor of Bluffton, Ohio; served as a member of state democratic executive committee; and was elected judge of the probate court of Allen county, Ohio, and served from 1882 till 1886, when he resigned. He was elected to the fiftieth congress, and was re-elected to the fiftyfirst congress as a democrat.
