Willers, Diedrich (Soldier clergyman was born Feb)
soldier, clergyman, was born Feb. 6, 1798, in Germany. For five years he served in the German army, and was at the battle of Waterloo with the allied army under the Duke of Wellington. In 1819 he emigrated to the United States, and was ordained a clergyman in 1821. For sixty years he was pastor of the German reformed church. He stood high in his religious denomination, and frequently presided over its synods.
He died May 13, 1883, in Varick, Ν. Υ.
