Wilder, Edward Binns

civil engineer, was born Aug. 9, 1814, in Montego Bay, Jamaica. After graduating from Union college of Schenectady, N. Y., he studied civil engineering; and during 1846-53 was engaged in exploring the mineral resources of Cuba. He subsequently moved to California and engaged in mining engineering, and for many years was superintendent of the Ophir silver mines in Nevada. He resides in Salt Lake City, and is a brother of the late William H.

Wilder, the eminent lawyer of New Orleans, La.

WILDER, MARSHALL PINCKNEY, humorist, author, was born Sept. 19, 1859, in Geneva, N. Y. He is the author of a book entitled The People I've Smiled With.
