White, George Henry
lawyer, congressman, was born Dec. 18, 1852, in Rosendale, N. C. He was principal of one of the state normal and other schools in the state. He was elected to the house of representatives in 1880 and to the state senate in 1884. He was elected solicitor and prosecuting attorney for the second judicial district of North Carolina for four years in 1886, and for a like term in 1890. He was elected to the fifty-fifth congress as a republican. For six years he was grand master of Masons of North Carolina.
