White, Alexander
soldier, lawyer, jurist, state legislator, congressman, was born Oct. 16, 1816, in Franklin, Tenn.
He was a member of the thirty-second congress; was a member of the Alabama state convention of 1865; and was a member of the general assembly in 1872. He was elected a representative from Alabama to the forty-third congress; and in 1875 was appointed an associate justice of the United States court for the territory of Utah. WHITE, ALEXANDER CALDWELL, lawyer, congressman, was born Dec. 12, 1833, near Kittanning, Pa. In 1867 he was elected district attorney of Jefferson county; and in 1868 removed to Brookville, the county seat. In 1870 he was reelected. In 1884 he was elected a representative from Pennsylvania to the fortyninth congress as a republican.
