Weiss, Lewis

lawyer, jurist, journalist, was born Dec. 28, 1717, in Prussia. He was one of the founders of the German society of Philadelphia; and its president in 1783-84. He was commissioned by the executive council of the province a justice of the peace, and a justice of the court of common pleas. He edited Collection of the Laws of Pennsylvania. He died Oct. 22, 1796, in Philadelphia, Pa.

WEISS, MRS. SUSAN ARCHER [TUL- LEY], poet, was born Feb. 14, 1835, in Hanover county, Va. She is a poet of New York city whose poems were first collected in 1859.
