Webster, William Prentiss
soldier, jurist, was born June 9, 1817, in Newburyport, Mass. In 1869 he was appointed consul-general of the United States at Frankfort-on-the-Main, Germany; and subsequently served as judge. He died Feb. 27, 1877, in Lowell, Mass.
WEDDERBURN, ALEXANDER JOHN, farmer, journalist, was born Oct. 31, 1849, in New Orleans, La. He is master of the Virginia State grange; has lectured extensively on various topics; and was special agent of the department of agriculture for investigating food adulterations; and is the editor and owner of the Weekly National Intelligencer, and The National Farm and Fireside of Washington, D. C.
