lawyer, jurist, state legislator, congressman, was born May 2, 1818, in Greene county, Ala.
He served in the Mississippi legislature in 1845 and 1846; and was a representative in the legislature of Arkansas in 1848 and 1849, and was speaker of the house.
In 1850 he was elected state's attorney for the sixth judicial district of Arkansas.
He was a representative from that state to the thirty-third congress; and was also elected to the thirty-fifth congress. died July 2, 1875, in Nevada, Ark.
