Thomas, Ormsby B
soldier, lawyer, state senator, congressman, was born Aug. 21, 1832, in Sandgate, Vt. He was district attorney of Crawford county, Wis., several terms; and was a representative in the Wisconsin legislature in 1862, 1865, and 1867. He was a member of the Wisconsin state senate in 1880 and 1881; and was a presidential elector in 1872. He served as captain of company D, thirty-first regiment Wisconsin volunteer infantry in the union army. In 1884 he was elected a representative from Wisconsin to the forty-ninth congress; and re-elected to the fiftieth and fifty-first congresses as a republican.
