Sturtevant, John C
manufacturer, banker, congressman, was born Feb. 20, 1835, in Spring Township, Pa.
In 1861, 1862 and 1864 he was an officer in the house of representatives at Harrisburg, Pa., and was elected a member of the house of representatives for the session of 1865; and re-elected for the session of 1866. He removed to Conneautville in 1867, and was engaged in manufacturing and milling until 1888. In 1874 he was appointed cashier of the First National bank of Conneautville, and in 1875 was elected president of the same bank.
He was elected to the fifty-fifth congress as a republican.
