Stout, Bryon Gray
agriculturist, banker, congressman, was born in 1829 near Canandaigua, N. Y. In 1854 he was elected to the Michigan state legislature; and was reelected in 1856, and chosen speaker of the house. He was state senator in 1860; and was president pro tempore of the senate. He was member of the Philadelphia convention of 1866; and also of the national demoa cratic conventions of 1868, 1880 and 1888.
He was engaged in private banking prior to 1869, and from that time in agriculture. He was elected to the fifty-second congress as a democrat. He died June 19, 1896, in Pontiac, Mich.
