Storer, David Humphreys
physician, surgeon, author, was born in 1804.
In 1822 he graduated from Bowdoin college; studied medicine and became a successful physician and surgeon of Boston, Mass. In 1837 he originated the Tremont Street Medical school, and in 1854 was called to the chair of obstetrics and medical jurisprudence in the medical department of Harvard university, of which institution he was also dean of the faculty. He has contributed valuable papers to various publications on zoölogy and herpetology; and was the author of Ichthyology and Herpetology of Massachusetts; Synopsis of North American Fishes; and History of the Fishes of Massachusetts.
