Stansel, Martin L
soldier, lawyer, legislator, jurist, was born April 23, 1824, in Savannah, Ga. In 1844 he graduated from the university of Alabama; has been judge of the circuit court, and during 1861-65 he served as colonel of the forty-first regiment confederate states volunteers. In 1865 he served as a member of the Alabama state constitutional convention; and for many years has served with distinction as representative and state senator of the Alabama state legislature. He is one of the foremost lawyers of the south at Carrollton, Ala.
