Smith, Emmett Werter

educator, lawyer, was born Feb. 1, 1866, in Sexton, Texas. In 1888 he graduated with honors from the Southwestern university; was principal of the high school in East Texas for three years, and in 1892 graduated from the law department of the university of Texas. He has attained prominence as an able lawyer of Nacogdoches, Texas, where he is also associate editor of The Star-News. He is the author of a number of articles on various topics, which have appeared in current literature.
