Sherman, Elmer Emmett
educator, physician, surgeon, was born Feb. 7, 1861, in Fountain Green, Ill. He attended Howe's academy of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; the Laharpe seminary, Illinois; the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Keokuk, Iowa; and the Illinois Medical college of Chicago. For many years he was a teacher in graded and country schools, and actively engaged in institute work. He has always taken great interest in Sunday school work; has been president of several religious and literary societies, and furnished written work for conventions.
