Shelley, Harry Rowe

musician, composer, was born June 8, 1858, in New Haven, Conn. He is a successful organist, and the author of many pieces of church music.

SHELTON, FREDERICK WILLIAM, clergyman, author, poet, was born in 1814 in Jamaica, N. Y. He was an episcopal clergyman of Carthage Landing, N. Y., who wrote in both prose and verse a number of humorous and satirical books. He was the author of The Trollopiad, or the Traveling Gentleman in America; The Rector of St. Bardolph's; Peeps from the Belfry, or the Parish Sketch-Book; Salander and the Dragon, a romance; Up the River, a collection of rural sketches; Chrystalline, a romance; The Gold Mania; and Use and Abuse of Reason. He died June 20, 1881, in Carthage Landing, N. Y.
