Seney, George Ebbert
lawyer, jurist, congressman, author, was born May 29, 1832, in Uniontown, Pa. In 1857 he was elected judge of the common pleas court, and served five years. He served as a commissioned officer in the union army during the civil war. He was a delegate to the democratic national convention of 1876. He was elected a representative from Ohio to the forty-eighth congress; and was re-elected to the fortyninth, fiftieth and fifty-first congresses. In 1887 he was chairman of the democratic state convention of Ohio. He was the author of Seney's Code of Procedure.
