Schuyler, Philip
soldier, congressman, United States senator, was born Nov. 22, 1733, in Albany, N. Y. He was appointed major - general in the army of the revolution in 1775, and dispatched to the fortifications of the north of New York, to prepare for the invasion of Canada. He was a delegate to congress previous to the present constitution; and was a senator of the United States by appointment from 1789 to 1791, and again in 1797. He died Nov. 18, 1804, in Albany, N. Y.
