Ruggles, Nathaniel
congressman, was born in 1761 in Massachusetts. He was a representative in congress from Massachusetts from 1813 to 1819. He died Dec. 19, 1819, in Roxbury, Mass.
RUGGLES, SAMUEL BULKELEY, lawyer, financier, was born April 11, 1800, in New Milford, Conn. He was one of the organizers of the Erie canal; and was a representative of the United States in the international monetary conference at Paris in 1867. He laid out and presented Gramercy Park to the city of New York. He died Aug. 28, 1881, in Fire Island, N. Y.
