Rourke, Patrick Henry

lawyer, legislator, was born Oct. 28, 1854, in Norristown, Pa. He received the rudiments of his education in the common schools, and attended the Northern Indiana Normal college of Valparaiso, Ind. In 1882 he was admitted to the bar in Chicago, Ill., and moved the same year to the territory of Dakota. He took up the practice of his profession at Lisbon, N. D.; has been city attorney; mayor of his city; district attorney; state's attorney; and in 1892 was the republican nominee for attorney-general. He served with distinction as state senator in the North Dakota state senate; and has been United States district attorney for the district of North Dakota.
