Ray, Fabius Maximus

lawyer, educator, state legislator, author, was born in March, 1837, in East Windham, Maine.

In 1867 entertaining the project of abandoning the law, he entered the senior class of the Divinity school in Cambridge and graduated, but never received ordination, and in a year or two resumed the legal profession in Portland, which he continues in the firm of Ray and Dyer. He represented Westbrook in the Maine legislature of 1871-72. He published a volume of poems in 1873. He taught a school in Saccarappa in 1865 and in the winter of 1869-70, and has had several private pupils in modern languages and the classics.
