Quincy, Josiah (Patriot was born)

patriot, was born in 1709, in Braintree, Mass. In 1775 he was one of the commissioners to treat with New York as to military defences against the French. He died in 1784.

QUINCY JOSIAH, lawyer, author, was born Feb. 23, 1744, in Boston, Mass. He was a famous Boston lawyer and patriot, and very prominent at the opening of the revolutionary period. He was the author of Observations on the Boston Port Bill.

He died at sea April 26, 1775, near Gloucester, Mass. a
