Pomeroy, Theodore Medad
lawyer, banker, congressman, was born Dec. 31, 1824, in Cayuga, N. Y. During 1851-56 The was district attorney of Cayuga county, N. Y.; a member of the assembly of the New York state legislature in 1857; and a member of the thirty-seventh, thirty-eighth, thirty-ninth, and fortieth congresses during 1861-69, being speaker of the house in 1869. In 1875-76 he was mayor of the city of Auburn, N. Y.; was a state senator in 1878-79; and has taken an active part in the public and political affairs of his state. 1
