Percy, Townsend

journalist, explorer, author, was born March 26, 1854, in Troy, N. Y. He is a son of John Townsend Percy, the eminent lawyer. He received his education at the Troy academy and the Cazenovia seminary. He has been an explorer in Panama and Central America; and is a fellow royal of the Geographical society. He is a successful dramatic critic and playwright; the author of Appleton's Dictionary of New York; and other works. He is now the financial editor of the London Financial News, and resides in New York city.
