Peirce, William Shannon

lawyer, jurist, was born Sept. 3, 1815, in New Castle, Del. In 1866 he became a judge of the court of common pleas in Philadelphia, which office he held by subsequent elections until his death. He died April 4, 1887, in Philadelphia, Pa.

PEIRSON, MRS. LYDIA JANE [WHEELER], poet, was born in 1802, in Middletown, Conn. She was a poet of Adrian, Mich.; and the author of Forest Leaves, and Other Poems; and The Forest Minstrel. She died in 1862, in Adrian, Mich.
