Parker, Charles
manufacturer, was born Jan. 2, 1809, in Cheshire, Conn.
He is the president of the Charles Parker company, iron founders and producers of hardware, and of Parker Bro's, manufacturers of guns; and is one of the most valuable residents of Meriden, Conn., and has done as much as any other man there to convert that city into the perfect hive of industry which it is.
It was he who first introduced steam power into a factory in Meriden. His little shop has now grown into five separate and distinct factories, all located in different parts of Meriden, and there is also a factory at Yalesville, a village three miles from Meriden.
