Organ, Benjamin Simpson

soldier, lawyer, lecturer, jurist, legislator, was born April 2, 1847, in Wilson county, Tenn. He received his education in the common schools of Illinois and the academy of Xenia. At the age of sixteen years he enlisted in the one hundred and thirtysixth Illinois volunteer infantry, and served gallantly throughout the war. He has attained success as an eminent lawyer of Mount Carmel, Ill., and as a lecturer on religious subjects. He has been county judge, and served with distinction as a member of the general assembly of the Illinois state legislature.
