Morse, Alpheus Cary
artist, architect, was born June 3, 1818, in Boston, Mass. He was the builder of the Rhode Island hospital and Sale's Memorial hall of Providence. Early in life he became well known as an artist in portraiture, chiefly in crayon; but later in life he devoted himself almost wholly to architecture. MORSE, MRS. CHARLOTTE DUN- NING [WOOD], author, was born in 1858 in New York. She is a novelist; and the author of Upon a Cast, a society novel; A Step Aside; and Cabin and Gondola.
