Morris, John Gottlieb
clergyman, author, was born Nov. 14, 1803, in York, Pa. He was a noted lutheran divine of Baltimore, founder of The Lutheran Observer, and long professor of natural history in the university of Maryland. He was the author of Catechumen's and Communicant's Companion; Popular Exposition of the Gospels; Life of John Arndt; Life of Catherine de Bora; The Blind Girl of Wittenberg; Fifty Years in the Lutheran Ministry; The Diet of Augsburg; Journeys of Luther; Luther at Wartburg and Coburg; and Lutheran Doctrine of the Lord's Supper.
